If anyone has a registry / regedit dump from The zoom section of their registry, from their machine with working no-green-screen virtual background, please post here. First off, make sure your Zoom is updated to the latest version, which means version 4.6.0 (13614.1202) if you're using a Mac or 2.0519 for a PC without a physical green screen. The gap is going to open up between Zoom and Teams/Meet the more these glaring differences in cloud resources become obvious. They cannot anti-alias without a green screen even on low res, and need hardware none of their competitors need or ask for to enable the same functionality. A quad core gen 3 or 4 desktop or laptop, has more than enough MIPS. ![]() Seems to be more a limitation of how they're qualifying hardware or their detection mechanism, more than actual limitation. by Daffany Chan Updated: MaOriginally Published: MaShutterstock Zoom’s virtual background feature has become a mainstay on. They are trying very hard to have your local machine do the heavy lifting because they're unable, unwilling, or can't afford to do it in the cloud like msft/goog.īut also that's why I specifically asked for a registry workaround to force the feature, and not whether or not I meet the requirements. The feature is gated by CPU compute power more than video card, if you give a read through all the requirements literature for different scenarios and platforms. ![]() That 4 core, gen 8 stipulation is specifically for i3 CPU as the minimum bar if you read closely.
